Happy Birthday!

A dear friend of mine turns 55 years young today! She's still as vital, busy and engaging as she was at 25. We've known each other for 30 years, but it seems like yesterday when we met and were in our twenties, in love with the possibilities life would roll out to us, and fun...

Even though the years have crept up on us, we're still in love with the possibilities life will present to us, and we are fun:-) That mindset never changes. Our age tends to be reflected in the ages of nieces, nephews, and parents: not in ourselves. That's the way it should be - you're only as old as you feel.

When I think of aging, I think of this passage from Kahlil Gibran on Time, " ... let each season encircle all the other seasons, And let today embrace the past with remembrance and the future with longing." So today, my friend and I are celebrating on an afternoon cruise on the harbor. And then we'll eat cake!

Food for thought from Billy Crystal - "Dahling, you look mahvelous!"
